A Corporate Thriller: The Final Six

The beginning of this book felt like "okay okay, this is happening. Okay these are the characters, right. " like everything was moving good and then BAM the ending. At first it didn't make any sense, that interview but I thought let's just move forward and MY GOODNESS the plot it picked up was mind blowing.

I had to pick up my notebook to write down the characters and what was happening, which, btw, I have never done before.

This book is divided into two parts. Part 1 is the pov of one character and Part 2 is the pov of another. In part 1 every chapter ends with an interview of a different person which will leave you with so many questions but it will all come together. As a person who could usually predict what will happen for example, who's the culprit, I could not, with this book. I just could not. It keeps throwing twists at you which will have you saying "what the hell just happened? ". Trust me you will not know who the culprit is until the very end.

This was such a fresh read for me because everything in this book was unique; the characters, the premise, the plot and the storyline. If I want to summarise this book this is how it goes:

6 shortlisted candidates were told that there's going to be a group discussion in a month where either all of them or some of them or maybe none of them will get selected to work in this big company in Japan based on their performances. They start working together until one random day they get a mail from the company that there is a change in the selection procedure and now only ONE OF THEM will get the job. Who gets to decide this? The candidates themselves. Yes. They have to unanimously decide amongst themselves that who is perfect for this job. They are in a meeting room which is under surveillance by the company's team and they have 150 mins to come to a decision. Now, this my friends is the point where everything goes down and when I say DOWN, I mean it. I'm not going to say anything further, you'll have to read the book to find out.
